Magnus Health

KCD uses Magnus Health SMR (Student Medical Record), a HIPAA-compliant, online database to collect student medical information and other important documents for the school. This confidential web-based system will provide our parents and appropriate employees at KCD with access to your child’s health record as well as the ability to make updates when needed. Additionally, parents will have less paperwork to complete each year as the system will maintain the information for the duration of your child’s education at KCD and be accessible after graduation.

We ask that all of the required information be submitted by August 1, 2026.

Learning Services

List of 2 items.

  • Academic Accommodations

If your child has been diagnosed with a learning, emotional, or physical need requiring academic accommodations, please contact Dr. Tanya Bailey, Director of Student Services, at tanya.bailey@kcd.org before the beginning of the 2026-27 school year. With the start of the new school year, it is important that student accommodation documents are current and accurate.

We must have documentation on file in order to provide accommodations in the classroom. Please refer to the KCD Student-Parent Handbook section on Learning Support for information on eligibility requirements. If testing has not been updated within the past 3 years, the summer is a good time to complete the necessary evaluations. The Upper School follows the College Board and ACT guidelines for eligibility, so we must have documentation on file in order to provide accommodations in the classroom.

Dr. Bailey is available to meet individually with families of students receiving accommodations to discuss academic accommodation plans for the coming year. Please contact her if you have any questions or to arrange a meeting.

*If your child has an accommodation plan on file, it will be posted as “Learning Profile” on their MyKCD profile page under the “Progress” section before the start of the school year. If there have been any changes to the diagnosis or new evaluations completed, please provide the updated documentation as soon as possible. Please let Dr. Bailey know if you have any questions or are unable to locate your child's accommodation plan on MyKCD.
  • Lower School Screenings

The Lower School will provide free occupational therapy (OT) and speech screenings to all JK, K and new 1st-4th students. The screenings are scheduled for the fall and will be conducted by Lindsey O. Jones, M.S., OTR/L of Mind Body Child; and Erin Richardson, M.A. CCC-SLP, respectively.
    • The OT screening is a developmental screening of the student’s fine/gross motor skills, visual motor integration, and adaptive behaviors. OT supports the student’s ability to read and work on paper, maintain attention to task, complete seated work, self-regulate, listen, follow directions, and gain body awareness as well as to maintain personal space, independence with work habits, and class routine.
    • Speech screenings assess a student’s articulation or pronunciation of sounds, voice, and receptive/expressive language skills. Results of the screening will be mailed to you and shared with your child's teacher.
If you have any questions about the screenings or if you have concerns about your child related to OT or speech that you would like us to share with the screening providers, please contact Dr. Tanya Bailey, Director of Student Services, at tanya.bailey@kcd.org.
