At Summer Stretch, campers can choose between academic and enrichment opportunities, sports, and the arts in a caring and nurturing environment that promotes healthy minds and bodies.
No, we are a specialty camp program and do not offer before or after care programs. We do offer a Lunch Bunch program for those taking an AM and PM camp. This means you can attend all day from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. No care is available before or after these hours.
Each camp is run by a qualified instructor who is responsible for the camp program and schedule. Many instructors are KCD faculty members and coaches. Some are outside vendors from Louisville and even some from out of state.
Every camp has a maximum number of children that it can take. This number is based on staffing ratio requirements. Therefore, once the camp fills up, we can not take any additional children. We do have a waitlist set up for each camp, but that is only accessed if someone drops out. In some cases, the camp lead will hire additional staff to take on additional children, but that is not guaranteed. Early registration is highly suggested.
If there is room in the camp, yes! However, registrations after the deadline have a $20 late fee. Please always try to enroll in the camp of your choice at least one full week in advance or sooner.
Generally speaking, no. However, some camps may have snacks as part of their program. This information will be sent out by the camp lead well before the start of camp. Each camper should bring a water bottle with them to camp daily.
Each Camp Director is asked to send their welcome email to families one week in advance. If you need additional information, you may email the camp office at summer@kcd.org and we will get your question directed to the director.
