Lower School Programming

KCD’s lower school offers a variety of opportunities to receive additional support, when needed, and to explore areas of strength.  While most of this differentiation happens within the regular classroom, occasionally there is a need for individual or small group work with one of our lower school learning specialists, typically in the areas of math and/or reading. Our learning specialists are trained in specialized methods including Orton-Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell to provide additional approaches and intervention, when appropriate. Lower school students also can receive additional support through our after school homework club, peer tutoring from upper school students, or outside providers on campus such as speech and occupational therapists and academic interventionists.
