Bearkitten Field Hockey (Grades K-5th)

Dribble, Shoot, Drive, Score! The KCD Bearkitten Field Hockey Camp is designed to help elementary and middle school players develop their field hockey skills. The camp will center on individual, small-group, and team instruction. The camp coaching staff will provide players with an overview of field hockey rules and discuss how they affect team play during camp. The campers will learn a lot and have fun too! Equipment required: Players are required to furnish their own stick, mouth guard, shin guards, and water bottle. (We have extra sticks if a player needs to borrow one for the week.)

Origami and Paper Airplanes (Grades K-5th)

Come explore Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding, and paper airplanes for a fun-filled week! Your imagination is the limit. Campers will be provided with specific paper for the week's projects and endless fun.

Outdoor Adventures (Grades K-5th)

Unplug, explore, play! Join Mrs. V.H. as we venture out on KCD's 80 acres, where curiosity and independence are encouraged. We will create a mud kitchen, explore the creek, hike, learn about pollinators, and ecology. Outdoor exploration, discovery, and play are the focus. Let’s have some outdoor fun!

Magic: The Gathering (Grades 2nd-8th)

Shuffle up and play! At our Magic: The Gathering summer camp, students in grades 2-8 will dive into the world’s most popular trading card game while building skills in strategy, math, reading comprehension, and creative problem-solving. The camp is open to all experience levels—whether your child is brand new to Magic or already a seasoned planeswalker. If they love Pokémon cards, Magic might be the perfect next adventure!

Each student will receive starter decks, supplies, and a personal card collection to help them get started; Magic-themed prizes and goodies will also be awarded throughout the week (estimated total value of $40). Supervised trading will be allowed and encouraged, and students are welcome to bring their own cards and decks from home to play and share. Please bring a water bottle and a small snack. Note: 3rd grade reading level highly recommended.

Design-a-Doll Dream Camp (Grades K-3rd)

Join us for a magical week of creativity and imagination! Campers will design and create their own unique dolls, craft stylish clothes and fun accessories, and enjoy plenty of imaginative play time. KCD Football Camp of Champions (Grades 1st-8th)

The KCD Football Camp of Champions enters its 23rd year this summer as the longest-running camp in KCD history. The camp is a great introduction to the game of football, including catching, throwing, route running, non-contact rugby tackling, and many other aspects. Campers will be divided by age and coached by the KCD Varsity Football staff and players. Come out and enjoy learning the game of football, the KCD Bearcat way!

Fun with Tennis (Grades JK-4th)

Join Coach Pepper and Coach Miles for Fun with Tennis! We will focus on advanced beginner and beginner tennis players. Campers will focus on two different strokes each day. We will break down the basics and have fun while playing. There will also be a beginning conditioning component to camp. Through fun tennis drills and games, your tennis player will learn a ton and have better strokes by the end of the week!

Bearcat Clay Club (Grades 2nd-6th)

Join Ms. Miller (LS Art) and Mr. Jager (US Ceramics) for a hands-on clay adventure! Artists will get messy, try new techniques, and create a new clay project each class—plus everyone will have a chance to try the potter’s wheel during the week. Students will experience the full ceramic process, from building to glazing and firing, and head home with finished works they can be proud of. All supplies and a daily snack are included—perfect for curious makers who love to experiment and create with clay!

Calling all cupcake lovers! Join Ms. Sallaberry for a sugary sweet adventure where we can explore all things cupcakes. Campers will bake and decorate cupcakes, experiment with unique flavor combinations and surprise fillings, and learn simple design techniques to make their creations truly one-of-a-kind. When the sugar rush is over, we will enjoy cupcake-themed games and crafts together. No baking experience is necessary! Just bring your creativity, imagination...and a sweet tooth!

Coach Sample would love for you to join him this summer for a week of fun-filled games! Campers will explore sculpting, shaping, and designing using colorful Play-Doh to bring their ideas to life. Bring your imagination as we create works of art around the five core emotions. Inspired by music, poetry, and literature, we will produce art using various media in this sensory, hands-on, self-expression of fun that comes to life through YOUR creations. A Blast of Broadway in the Bluegrass (Grades 1st-5th)

Come join the fun as we sing, dance, and act to the brilliant music of top Hollywood kids’ animated movies and the most famous Broadway shows for kids, including Wicked, Zootopia, and Sing, and MANY more musicals! We will have a great time doing fun drama games and preparing for our Blast of Broadway performance on Friday, June 5, at 3:00 pm. A Blast of Broadway will meet at KCD's beautiful theater from Monday, June 1, to Friday, June 5, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is a full-day camp!
