DECA success at state competition

Upper School students from KCD’s DECA chapter attended the Kentucky DECA State Career Development Conference in Downtown Louisville March 3-5. 
At the conference, students competed in a variety of competitions. This year seven Bearcats qualified for competitions at the international level later this spring!
  • Adam Hetman ’24 took home the 1st place trophy for having the overall best score on the Hospitality and Tourism cluster of oral and written exams.
  • Matthew Burns ’24 placed 2nd in the Business Growth Plan category.
  • The team of Mihir Chawla ’26 and William Bache ’25 placed 2nd in the Career Development Project category. 
  • The team of Elle Lenihan ’24, Katie Vonder Haar ’24, and Dylan Yonover ’24 placed 2nd in the Business Solutions Project category. 
DECA is an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. This year, DECA’s much-anticipated International Career Development Conference (ICDC) and competitions will be held April 27-30 at the Great Wolf Lodge in Anaheim, California. Good luck, Bearcats!
