KCD 7th/8th basketball wins "Brother vs. Brother Classic"

On Tuesday, January 23, the KCD middle school boys "A" basketball team squared off against the Colts of Olmsted North. This matchup was a key game on the schedule for the Bearcats as their coach, KJ Abrams, was coaching against his older brother, Willie Abrams. The Colts were a strong team, with one of the best records in the JCPS league.

The gym was a sea of KCD blue as Bearcats fans packed out the gym for this "blue out" game. This was an exciting and tightly contested game with several lead changes throughout the game. The Bearcats entered the fourth quarter trailing by two points, but thanks to tough defense and hustle, they pulled away late in the game, sealing the win with some clutch free throws in the final minutes. KCD was victorious by a score of 53-45, and was able to hoist up the first "Brother vs. Brother" trophy.

Grant Yewell led the Bearcats with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Landon Smith chipped in 13 points in the win.

Congrats to coach Abrams and the Bearcats on a great win!
