KCD launches #WinAtSocial platform
KCD is proud to partner with The Social Institute as we launch their #WinAtSocial platform in our Middle and Upper School classrooms. #WinAtSocial is a gamified, online learning platform that empowers students to build important life skills, address social-emotional wellness, and explore the challenges and benefits to social media and technology in our modern world.
During our faculty in-service day on Friday, March 17, Middle and Upper School teachers learned more about how the platform will be used in our Bearcats’ classrooms. #WinAtSocial features a curriculum of short lessons that engage students through polls, quizzes, and group discussion topics.
Lessons are designed to be grade/age-appropriate and focus on topics such as social media, college and career prep, and leadership. Through these lessons, students will enhance soft skills like communication, empathy, and resilience as well as strengthen core competencies like self-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
The Social Institute partners with schools and brands around the world to support and empower their students, educators, and professionals to navigate social-emotional health, social media, and technology in positive ways. KCD is the first school in Kentucky to partner with the group.
