Varsity Head Swim Coach

Kentucky Country Day School (KCD) is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and student-centered Head Swim Coach to lead our swim program. This is an exciting opportunity to work with motivated student-athletes in a supportive JK–12 independent school community. The Head Swim Coach will be responsible for leading all aspects of the swim program, including coaching, program development, and fostering a positive team culture that aligns with KCD’s mission and athletic philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead daily practices during the swim season
• Coach and supervise student-athletes during meets and competitions
• Teach proper swimming technique, training habits, and sportsmanship
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and the athletic department
• Coordinate meet schedules, entries, and logistics with the athletic office
• Support the academic and personal growth of student-athletes
• Assist with program development and recruitment of new swimmers within the school

Qualifications

• Prior coaching or competitive swimming experience preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to mentor and develop student-athletes of varying skill levels
• Commitment to the values of education-based athletics
