Johára Tucker visits with KCD faculty

Before the students joined us back on campus for the start of the 2023-24 school year, teaching and non-teaching faculty had the wonderful opportunity to engage in meaningful professional development programming during our in-service days.

On Monday, we were thrilled to host Johára P. Tucker, Esq., Chief of Equity & Belonging at the Dalton School in New York City.

In her presentation to all faculty, “Relate, Reflect, Restore,” she spoke about the important and on-going work of educators when it comes to diversity, equity, inclusion, and building community. Johára invited faculty to share and reflect on our identities, explore ways to stay centered in humanity, and take ownership of the learning and restoration process.

We are so grateful for the meaningful discussions that Johára’s visit inspired.
