Individual swimmers, relays qualify for state

The KCD swim team, led by senior captains Lilly Papalia and John Jay, earned a 5th placed combined finish at the Region 5 meet at U of L’s Ralph Wright Natatorium. Several swimmers will advance to the state meet on February 23–24 at the same venue.
The boys team, although small in number, showed great strength, with many swimmers turning in personal best performances and advancing to the regional finals.

Sophomore Cora Martin and eighth grader Emma Coulter both qualified for two events each at the state meet. The 200 medley relay team of Emory Garlove (9th), Liana Renard (7th), Cora Martin, and Emma Coulter advanced to the state meet along with the 200 free relay team of Kyra Anderson (11th), Emory Garlove, Cora Martin, and Emma Coulter. The 400 free relay team of Lilly Papalia (12th), Hailey Zachariah (9th), Kyra Anderson (11th), and Liana Renard were named first alternate to the state meet.

Any Bearcat fans in town at the end of Winter Break are encouraged to come out and support the Aqua Bearcats who will be swimming at the state meet. Congrats to all the swimmers for an excellent season!
