Alumnus honored with Exceptional Service Award

KCD has honored graduate and former parent William Temple Beam Jr. (KCD 1976) with the Exceptional Service Award. Interim Head of School Anne Glosky and Board Chair Barbie Dickens presented Mr. Beam with the award at the Alumni and Chair’s Reception on January 26.
In her presentation, Ms. Glosky noted that Mr. Beam “has made an indelible mark at KCD through his myriad roles: student, star kicker on the football team, Athlete of the Year, alumnus, parent, three-sport KCD coach, exhibit donor and benefactor to the Beam-Tway History Room, Booster Club President, benefactor, and school athletic historian.” Ms. Glosky highlighted Mr. Beam’s 14 years of work documenting and preserving KCD’s athletic history in The Bearcat Shield, an online archive of school records and statistics.

The Alumni and Chair’s Reception is an annual event for KCD graduates, major donors, and volunteers. This year’s reception was held at Copper & Kings.
