Outstanding Bluegrass Bill: Anya Sharma, Elly Girdler, Minhal Nazeer, and Tanvi Chaudhary, for their bill An Act relating to Instituting ALICE Training within Kentucky Public High Schools. This bill was recognized as the best bill among all bills in the Bluegrass House & Senate.
Maddox Miller and Avani Singal's bill, An Act Relating to Red Light Traffic Cameras at High Traffic Intersections, made it through the Commonwealth House chamber debate before being defeated by a razor-thin margin in the Commonwealth Senate. Their preparation for debate was stellar!
In addition, Tala Saad, KCD's candidate for Presiding Officer, was chosen to be President of the Bluegrass House for KYA 2022! Tala has been an active and dedicated member of the KCD Y-Chapter since 9th grade. She has proven herself over and over to be the model of the KCD motto, Citizen, Scholar, Steward.
Thank you to the entire Upper School (especially teachers) for supporting our students in this amazing work. And extra thanks to Mr. Jason Johnson for co-chaperoning! Next up for the KCD Y-Chapter: the Kentucky United Nations Assembly (mid-March)!
