KCD Middle School After-School Care Teacher

Kentucky Country Day School is currently in need of after-school teachers to provide supervision, support, and engagement for students in the middle school after-school program. This position helps create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment while supporting students during after-school hours. This is a part-time position working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm. Days of work are flexible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise middle school students during after-school programming.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Monitor student attendance and sign-out procedures.
  • Facilitate activities, games, study time, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Encourage positive student behavior and uphold school expectations.
  • Communicate concerns, incidents, or student needs to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
  • Maintain orderly program spaces and ensure materials are properly stored.
  • Assist with student transitions and dismissal procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow school safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with middle school-aged students is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise groups of students positively and professionally.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
