Kentucky Country Day School is now conducting a national search for a new Head of School to serve KCD's mission, faculty, and students. Announcements and updates about the search will be posted on this page as well as through onCampus and in FYI Online.

Timeline

March 21–22: Triangle Associates visited KCD to meet with groups of parents, students, administrators, teachers, and alumni.

April: Parents, students, administrators, teachers, and alumni participate in an online culture audit.

July 1: Application deadline

September: Search Committee selects semifinalists

October 22–24: Finalists visit KCD over three days.

November: KCD names a new Head of School

Search Committee

Elizabeth Poindexter, co-chair: Elizabeth is a member of the board of trustees and a past president of the Parent Association. She and her husband Philip are the parents of KCD student Lucy ’19.
 
John Handmaker, co-chair: John is a member of the board of trustees. He and his wife Trish have two children at KCD: Darrah ’24 and Case ’27.

Swapna Chandran: Swapna and her husband Manoj have two children at KCD: Gopal ’27 and Shanti ’29.

Tom Crockett ’84: Tom is a graduate of the KCD class of ’84 and a former member of the board. He and his wife Cindy have three children at KCD: Annie ’21, William ’23, and George ’26.

Amy Mendel: Amy is KCD’s director of lower school. She and her husband Danny are the parents of KCD grad Oliver ’18 and current student Amelia ’21.

Ann Ponniah: Ann is a KCD math teacher and 7/8 dean of students. She and her husband John Ouseph are the parents of Ashir ’26.

Rick Purdy: Rick is a member of the board of trustees. He and his wife Von are the parents of Roderick ’23.

Vic and Kim Staffieri: Vic and Kim are the parents of four KCD graduates: Nicole ’99, Alex ’03, Michele ’07, and Tommy ’14. They are also the grandparents of Rocco Coffey ’29 and Marianna Coffey '32. In 2013, Vic and Kim received the Exceptional Service Award in recognition of their commitment to the advancement and improvement of KCD.

Betsy Johnson Touma ’89: Betsy is a graduate of the KCD class of ’89 and a former president of the Parent Association. She and her husband Yano have three children at KCD: Maddie ’19, Mason ’21, and Parker ’22.

Seema Sheth ’04: Seema is a graduate of the KCD class of ’04 and the alumni representative to the board of trustees.
