Nearly 100 KCD students in grades K–12 turned out for the fourth annual KCD 3v3 soccer tournament on October 27. This tournament, which is organized by Clark Pollitt and the KCD soccer program, was a fundraiser to benefit our sister soccer program in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Mr. Pollitt, an organizer of KCD’s Costa Rica trip, has led the charge in partnering with this program by bringing them equipment and developing relationships with the kids and coaches on each visit.
The tournament raised over $1,800 for the soccer club that KCD middle school students will visit next summer in Costa Rica. Students played 10-minute games, and each group’s champion won giant Hershey bars. Thanks to all participants and volunteers for making this day a success! This event is a great way for KCD to practice stewardship and give back to the community at large.
