Seventh graders explore, bond at Elkhorn Creek

Last week, seventh graders traveled to Elkhorn Creek for their biodiversity study. Students started at the Salato Wildlife Education Center, where they observed displays of live Kentucky fish, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. They then traveled to the creek site, where they used tools such as the aquavue and the seine to give them a firsthand look at many types of fish, insects, amphibians, and reptiles in the creek. High water levels at the creek postponed the trip for over a month, but this seventh grade tradition was once again a success!
