Fourth graders enjoy ‘Pancakes for Breakfast’

On August 17, fourth grade teachers served their students a pancake breakfast as a fun way to teach inferencing skills to their students. Inferencing is an important skill that describes how readers get meaning from a text. This is a foundational skill that is used across the curriculum, including in language arts, science, and social studies. The big idea: Enjoying pancakes for breakfast and reading Pancakes for Breakfast by Tomie dePaola! After using their inferencing skills to create the story based on pictures, the students enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast prepared by the fourth grade team.
