Sixth graders collaborate to plan field trip

This year, sixth grade students used creativity and teamwork to plan field trips for their grade. Students worked in small groups in Learning Lab to plan a proposed field trip  and to present their idea to their classmates. Each section then voted on the class favorite. The five finalist groups were voted on by the sixth grade advisors. The final result was a tie, and the winning groups were combined into one fabulous trip! Hailey Hertzman and Dylan Yonover planned a trip to the Louisville Zoo. Adam Chaker and Minhal Nazeer's trip was to Schimpff's Confectionery. A walk across the The Big Four Bridge was also added.
Sixth graders were given the royal treatment by the Louisville Metro Police Department, who escorted them across the bridge and
held a dance party on the Kentucky side. Thanks to KCD director of security Rob Owen for coordinating with police department.

Sixth graders thoroughly enjoyed this student-planned field trip, from the beginning stages until the very end!
