KAIS conference inspires teachers statewide

On March 16, KCD hosted the Kentucky Association of Independent Schools (KAIS) 2018 state conference, which brought more than 600 teachers from a dozen schools to our campus.
This year’s conference theme was Experience, Inspire, Apply. During the morning session, teachers were offered a variety of experiences both on and off campus, including visits to the Kentucky Science Center, Speed Art Museum, Muhammad Ali Center, Flame Run Gallery, Locust Grove, and more. On-campus sessions were run by the Louisville Ballet, Ben Sollee of the Louisville Orchestra, Bend and Zen Yoga, and several others.

In the afternoon, teachers met back at KCD for lunch and discussion groups focusing on their morning experience. Teachers shared how their experience had inspired them and how they could apply this experience to their classroom and their teaching.

The day concluded with afternoon presentations and roundtable discussions. It was truly a day of great experiences that left KAIS faculty feeling inspired. A special thank you to Andrea Goode, Ann Ponniah, and the teacher services committee for their hard work in organizing this wonderful event!
