Clark Pollitt named head soccer coach for varsity boys team

Coach Pollitt has dedicated the last 21 years of his life to nurturing and growing KCD soccer.  In that time he has served as JV Boys Head Coach, Varsity Boys Assistant, Varsity Girls Associate Head Coach, and Middle School Head Coach.  

 

In 2011 he founded Bearcat FC, a developmental program to bring soccer to our youngest Bearcats and create a soccer program that is truly JK-12.  KCD's middle school program has been a juggernaut under Coach Pollitt's watch, posting multiple undefeated seasons and winning the league title 13 of the last 15 years.  

 

Outside of KCD, Coach Pollitt has worked diligently to hone his coaching craft, earning his USSF F, E, National D, and C coaching licenses.  He also maintains a USSF grade 8 referee license.  His USSF certifications have allowed him to coach high-level club soccer at Javanon Soccer Club, where his 19U girls team has held the Kentucky State Cup title from 2019-2021.

 

Coach Pollitt brings a culture of positivity and personal accountability that will celebrate the best in and demand the most of every player.  His years of experience with every aspect of KCD soccer will bridge the divisions and help to propel the program into a bright future.  

 

Pollitt says, "We have the core players in place right now in the Middle and Lower Schools to build back to State Championship level.  We will work our hardest to build a program that every local player wants to be a part of.  It's going to be about the players and making a special high-school soccer experience for them.  Michael Field is the best grass pitch in the state, and our soccer facility is on the way to being second to none.  We have something special at KCD, and we are going to honor and build on the tradition of soccer excellence that started with the State Championships of Coach Doug Delafield in the 70s and continued with the recent greatness of coaches Davis, Bell, Baker, and Traughber."
