Track & Field team impresses at the State Championship
Last weekend, members of the Track & Field team competed in the 2021 KHSAA State Track & Field Championships in Lexington, Ky. Our Bearcats put on an impressive performance across the board—even scoring the state title in the 3200!
Congratulations to State Champion, Haley Schoenegge, on her winning performance in the 3200, with a time of 11:46.26.
Our Girls 4x800 (Emily Hollon, Haley Schoenegge, Andie Rice, and Emory Garlove) also medaled, at 3rd place, with a season best time of 10:20.64.
Other notable performances:
Emory Garlove placed 9th in the 1600, just missing the podium, but hitting a killer PR at 5:36.77.
Maddox Miller placed 11th in the 3200, with a time of 13:23.
Girls 4x400 placed 13th, with a time of 4:38.72.
Boys 4x800 placed 15th, with a season best time of 9:05.77.
Addison Garlove placed 16th in the 3200, with a time of 11:26.
Lizzie Papalia placed 16th in Discus with a solid throw of 83-11.
Boys 4x400 placed 18th, with a season best time of 3:48.06.
Boys 4x100 placed 21st with a time of 48.58, in spite of an interference situation where another competitor fell into our lane.
Parker Touma placed 21st in the 400 with a time of 54.58.
We are so proud of all of our outstanding Bearcat athletes for their hard work and dedication. The spring 2021 season was one we will not forget.
