Congratulations to KCD’s 2021 delegation to the Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA). This year’s virtual KUNA event ended Tuesday, March 16, and our 31-member KCD delegation truly rose to the occasion, receiving accolades galore! KCD's delegation was recognized as a Premier Delegation and won one of the top awards given at KUNA—the Statesmanship Award for overall excellence as a delegation and for active participation in all facets of KUNA.
Please congratulate these Bearcats:
All 3 of KCD's Resolutions passed! Heather Colman, Ben Clift, Hayden Roberts, and Mason Touma represented Spain; Jane Hochman, Tanvi Chaudhary, and Anya Sharma represented Canada; and Minhal Nazeer, Sharini Shah, Ava Hurwitz and and Smera Dwivedi represented Italy.
Italy’s resolution was selected as one of the top 2 resolutions of KUNA and was debated before the entire General Assembly.
Tala Saad was selected as one of four top "attorneys" to represent the Contentious Side in the Showcase of Advocates for the International Court of Justice.
Sam Kanaly, Anya Sharma, and Minhal Nazeer were recognized as KUNA outstanding speakers.
Jane Hochman was recognized as KUNA outstanding delegate representing KCD.
Clay Bockhorst was selected as the next International Court of Justice President. This is a huge honor as he was selected by his peers in the International Court of Justice for this Presiding Officer role.
Thank you to everyone who has supported, mentored, and encouraged these students to follow their passions! Awesome work, Bearcats!
