Girls soccer players receive All-Region, All-State honors

Congratulations to senior Lily Pollitt, who capped off a remarkable high school career by receiving All-State Honorable Mention honors and being named to the All 7th Region First Team.  In just 9 games this season, Lily scored 23 goals and averaged the third highest average goals scored per game (2.6) of all high school girls soccer players in Kentucky.
During her tenure on the KCD soccer team, Lily set five school records: career goals with 145; single-season goals with 54 (junior year), single-game goals with 9 goals against Seneca High School in 2010; career assists with 39 assists; and single-season assists with 16 her sophomore year.

Throughout her high school soccer career Lily has earned multiple Courier-Journal Athlete of the Week honors and been named to any number of All-Tournament teams and has been recognized by area coaches each year with recognition at the district, region, and now state levels. Lily has committed to Eckerd College, where she will continue her soccer career. We are excited to watch her in action at the next level. Congratulations, Lily, on a remarkable high school career!

Congratulations also belong to Abbie Grogan, Marissa Read, and Sonia Djurasovic who were awarded All-Region Honorable Mention. Each of these young ladies made huge contributions towards the success the girls soccer team had this season.
