Second grade students explore the rainforest

We are so pleased that theater teaching artist, Talleri McRae, has been able to join each of the second grade classes for four STEAM sessions as they complete their unit on rainforests. This study of the rainforest is coordinated with the students' work in music class with LuAnn Hayes, in science class with Tracy Gritton, and in art class with Becky Gallion.
Our work will conclude next week with a museum display created by each child at his or her desk. It will feature their rhythmic compositions, their animal print from art class, accompanying science work, and finally a moving rainforest creature statue. Such fun! This residency is partially funded through the generosity of the KCD Fine Arts Guild.
