Sarah Shartzer selected to develop educational content for C-SPAN
Congratulations to Sarah Shartzer on receiving C-SPAN’s 2020 Teacher Fellowship. Ms. Shartzer currently serves as a middle school math teacher and the school’s technology integrationist. She is also the lead organizer of the annual Tech Teach Learn conference. Ms. Shartzer will work closely with C-SPAN over the next four weeks creating content for C-SPAN Classroom—a free online teaching resource for educators.
C-SPAN's Fellowship Program selects educators to partner with its Education Relations team to create new content for the upcoming school year. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this summer will feature a virtual experience instead of an in-person one, and educators will develop project ideas to feature on the C-SPAN Classroom website. Each Fellow was selected by a panel of C-SPAN representatives and evaluated based on several criteria, including a commitment to professional development and creative use of technology and social platforms.
“With the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to online learning, Sarah showed creativity and initiative in her approach to teaching and engaging students,” said Craig McAndrew, director, C-SPAN Education Relations. “We look forward to working with Sarah as we offer support and options for educators and students as they navigate these uncertain times."
