KCD delegation honored for excellence at KUNA

Congratulations to KCD’s 2020 delegation to the Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA). The 64 students making up our delegation were recognized as a Premier Delegation and also won the Conference Life Award—one of KUNA’s top awards—for active participation, respectful and intelligent debate, and commitment to KUNA’s core values. KCD was also one of only eight schools selected by the Kentucky World Affairs Council to perform on the International Stage.
The following students also earned individual recognition:

  • Maya Rao: Outstanding Delegate
  • Thomas Fogarty: Outstanding Speaker
  • Clay Bockhorst: Distinguished Advocate (International Court of Justice) and award-winner for the Applicant Side in the ICJ Showcase Team round.
  • David Brennan: named Committee Vice President (one of only four) for his excellence in running committee debate over the course of the conference.
According to KUNA advisor Sarah Moran, “Both KYA and KUNA help students learn about real-world issues on a local, national, and global scale, and teach them that their voice matters. These students are truly citizens, scholars, and stewards!”
