Kindergarteners connect with community helpers

Over the last few weeks, kindergartners have been learning about a variety of professions in our school and in the local community. Students learned about the facilities management side of KCD through a tour with Steven Meeron, KCD parent and assistant director of maintenance. Students learned the basics of banking on a visit to nearby Stock Yards Bank and were also visited by firefighters from the Middletown, Anchorage unit. KCD parent Dr. Roger Dotsey stopped by to talk to our Bearcats about being a dentist and taking care of their teeth. Students also learned about being a police officer and school security guard with a visit from KCD Director of Security Rob Owen.

This new unit was developed by kindergarten teachers as part of a summer grant, and it was a great time of learning for all!
