During senior night of the girls basketball game on Friday, January 31, senior Maya Rao broke the long-standing record for 3-point field goals made. Maya made 8 three point field goals, surpassing the previous record of seven set by Emory Goins in 2008. Maya says she appreciates all of the support she received from students and fans. “I did not think I would break the record that night. The feeling when the 8th three went in, though, was priceless. The thing that made it so great was definitely all the fans and supporters. I cannot thank everyone enough for coming out to the game.”
Coach Kristen Grogan was very proud of Maya’s performance and her leadership all season. “She has led our team with dignity and poise throughout her time here at KCD and it is appreciated. I hope this record stands for many years to come.”
Congratulations to Maya for her hard work and dedication to the Bearcat basketball program!
