Four students attend national diversity conference
Last week, upper school students Caleh, Mona, Abby, and Nediva attended the NAIS Student Diversity Leadership Conference in Seattle, Washington. This conference is a multiracial, multicultural gathering of upper school student leaders from across the U.S. and abroad, focusing on self-reflection, forming allies, and building community. Led by a diverse team of trained adult and peer facilitators, participating students develop cross-cultural communication skills, design effective strategies for social justice practice through dialogue and the arts, and learn the foundations of allyship and networking principles.
Our KCD students not only attended this year’s conference but also served as student leaders and peer facilitators. They went a day early and completed the required training to lead powerful discussions in their family groups. Thank you to these students for doing this important work!
