KCD’s first-ever Cultural Fair and Gift Bazaar was held on November 17 and was a huge success! The event brought in hundreds of attendees, including many who were visiting KCD for the first time. The hallways of the Frazier Upper School were full of visitors browsing unique items from our Gift Bazaar vendors and chatting with those manning the many colorful booths in the Cultural Fair. Throughout the afternoon, visitors were also treated to musical performances ranging from classical piano to African drumming.
We’d like to thank the KCD Parent Association, who sponsored this great event. This event was their idea and would not have happened without them. In turn, the Parent Association would like to share this message of thanks with our community:
“The Parent Association wishes to thank everyone who participated in our inaugural Holiday Gift Bazaar and Cultural Celebration last Sunday. Whether you brought a piece of your culture to share, sold your wares, purchased something, or volunteered, we appreciate you. A huge round of applause goes out to our two amazing chairs, Karen Crain for the Holiday Gift Bazaar and Von Purdy for the Cultural Celebration. In addition, thank you to our Vice Presidents of Diversity and Inclusion, Rama Tamimi Alsoufi and Niki Collins, and of course, Mr. Racine for his guidance throughout this process. Thanks also to Kent Martin for telling us what’s possible in the Upper School building and for allowing us to show it off. Thank you everyone, we are already planning for next year’s event and welcome feedback, ideas and suggestions for improvement!”
