Will Smith’s rising star continues to shine for LA Dodgers

When Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced at the end of July that KCD grad Will Smith ’13 would be the Dodgers’ starting catcher, there were a lot of KCD fans cheering on this former Bearcat baseball player.
Will’s MLB career has started off with a bang. This Courier-Journal article gives a nice summary: “His first home run was a walk-off against Philadelphia on June 1. On July 23 he hit another walk-off winner against Colorado, a three-run shot. Three days later he racked up a record-setting six RBIs on a 3-for-3 night against Washington. Then there was the grand slam he hit against San Diego on Aug. 1, which propelled Los Angeles to another win.” Since then, Will has set a new record for most RBIs and HRs through 23 games of play.

We’re so proud of what Will has accomplished for the Dodgers, but we are always happy to claim him as a Bearcat!
