In-service helps teachers ‘Celebrate and Educate’ one another
On March 15, KCD held its third inservice day of the school year for faculty and staff. The morning session, called Celebrate and Educate, provided an opportunity for faculty and staff to learn from their colleagues about new curricula and innovative programs. The goal of this program was to promote schoolwide awareness of diverse topics such as the lower school math curriculum, project-based learning in eighth grade science, and how PE is incorporating occupational therapy into their curriculum. Teachers really enjoyed learning more about their colleagues’ work and how it makes KCD a special place for students.
KCD faculty and staff also got an update from diversity and inclusion director James Racine, a refresher on emergency procedures from directory of security Rob Owen, and a presentation on recognizing and responding to anaphylaxis from allergist and KCD parent Dr. Doug Lotz.
