Bearcat Nature Camp: Session 1 (Grades K-6th)

Give your child the chance to explore, discover, and connect with the great outdoors! Our Summer Nature Camp offers hands-on adventures designed to spark curiosity and encourage a love for the natural world. Campers will enjoy guided hikes, wildlife observation, team-building games, and interactive ecology activities. Join us for a season of exploration, friendship, and fresh air!

Dog Lovers Camp (Grades 2nd-6th)

Do you love dogs? Then I am PAW-sitive you will love this camp! All week, activities will be centered around all things dogs. We will meet friendly dogs, make dog treats, dog toys, dog crafts, and play all sorts of dog-themed games! From tug of war, dog trivia, the pooper scooper challenge, and painting a picture of your own dog, you will have the opportunity to celebrate one of life’s greatest pets! You can also sign up for a time for your parent to bring your dog in to show the rest of the campers. KCD would feel very FUR-tunate if you joined this awesome camp! Fees include supplies for making dog treats, toys, and crafts. Please bring in a picture of your dog, a drink, and a snack.

Painting Playground (Grades K-5th)

Get ready for the most colorful week of summer! Painting Playground is a dream come true for kids who love to create. Each day, artists will dive into a new painting experience—watercolors, tempera, large scale, experimental tools, and tons of vibrant color. This camp is all about freedom, exploration, and joyful mess-making as kids discover just how fun painting can be. If your child lights up at the sight of a paintbrush, this is the camp for them!

KCD Girls Lacrosse Camp (Grades K-9th)

KCD Girls Lacrosse Camp is designed to provide age and skill-appropriate instruction to players of all experience levels. Whether your child has played for years or is picking up a stick for the very first time, this camp will be highly beneficial through our focus on stick skills, teamwork, and FUN! Each day will introduce new concepts and include drills, small-group games, and scrimmages. Come learn the "Fastest Sport on Two Feet" from the top program in Kentucky! Equipment will be provided for those in need.

READY, SET, BAKE! Come join Chef Jamie and learn how to make dazzling and delicious desserts such as Oreo dirt cake, poptarts, and more. Basketball Handles, Footwork & Finishing Camp (Grades 5th-8th)

The Basketball Handles, Footwork, and Finishing Camp will offer laser focus on the most under-taught specializations in basketball. This camp is perfect for players looking to increase their skills in these areas. Camp themes include: Elite-level ball-handling progressions, footwork mastery, rim-finishing toolkit, small-sided games centered on skills, a “Move of the Day” focus, and competitive skill challenges daily.

Pickleball and Badminton Galore (Grades 1st-8th)

Campers will learn the basics of pickleball and badminton through age-appropriate instruction, skill-building games, and friendly matches. Each day focuses on teamwork, sportsmanship, and building confidence in a positive and supportive environment. With plenty of movement, laughter, and creative activities mixed in, campers of all skill levels are welcome. By the end of the week, participants will have improved their skills and made new friends.

All About Animals (Grades JK-5th)

We’ve read about what happens If You Give A Dog a Cookie or If You Give A Pig a Pancake. But, if you want to find out what happens if you give a goat Cheerios or give a cow watermelon, join Lower School PE teacher, Coach Vertrees, at All About Animals Camp and find out on our field trip to Tribe Animal Sanctuary. Throughout the week, we will explore our wonderful world of animals and create animal-themed crafts and play animal-themed games.

On Thursday, May 28, we will meet at TRIBE ANIMAL SANCTUARY for a private tour. Parents will drop off their child at Tribe Animal Sanctuary at 9:00 am and pick them up at noon. Parents and siblings are welcome to join us on this day at no additional cost. Address: 2604 Flat Rock Rd, Louisville, KY 40245. Check them out on Facebook or at TribeSanctuary.org. All proceeds from this camp will be donated to Tribe Animal Sanctuary, a vegan farm sanctuary that provides care and sanctuary for over 100 abused, neglected, and abandoned animals.

Bearcat FC Soccer Camp for Boys and Girls (Grades JK-4th)

Join Coach Pollitt (USSF C License) for an AWESOME week of the best sport on the planet, FUTBOL! We will ALWAYS have a ball at our feet and a smile on our faces! We’ll focus on ball handling, inside-of-the-foot pass, instep drive, receiving/trapping, shooting/finishing, and game situations. These skills will be incorporated into small-sided games and activities in order to maximize FUN and touches on the ball. We will have treats at the end of each day for hard workers, and our KCD soccer players will come and play with us, too!

This camp provides the opportunity to enjoy KCD's three amazing playgrounds—the wooden playground (Bearcat Backyard), the metal playground (Blue & Gold Playground), and the nature playground (The Gernert Grove). Secret Agent Training Academy (Grades K-4th)

Get ready for a week of infiltration and investigation at the Secret Agent Training Academy! Your aspiring operative will spend four high-energy days mastering the art of espionage, from cracking complex secret ciphers using invisible ink to designing custom gadgets and navigating our challenging "laser grid" obstacle course. Campers will sharpen their observation and critical-thinking skills in preparation for "The Final Mission"—a massive, action-packed scavenger hunt—making this the perfect camp for future spies and puzzle masters.

Dinosaurs, Diggers, and Monster Trucks (Grades JK-4th)

Join Coach Vertrees in this combination camp and have fun playing with Dinosaurs, Diggers, and Monster Trucks. We’ll spend time in the sandbox uncovering buried dinosaurs and excavating with front loaders, backhoes, and dump trucks. Each student will paint their own dinosaur t-shirt. Bring your favorite dinosaurs, monster trucks, and digger toys, and we will include them during our play time.

Welcome to New York (Grades 1st-4th)

This camp will make you feel like you are in New York City! Crafts, movies, snacks, art, and building projects related to all things NYC. Students will create taxi snow globes, pretzel-dough ornaments, Times Square art projects, and other activities related to The Big Apple. They’ll also build models of the Brooklyn Bridge and their favorite NYC skyscraper! If time permits, the last few minutes of each day will include a kids’ film set in New York City.

LEGO City (Grades K-4th)

Campers will design and construct their own city using LEGO bricks, including buildings, vehicles, and creative landmarks. Daily challenges encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and innovative thinking as the city grows each day. The camp provides a welcoming environment for all skill levels, from beginner builders to LEGO enthusiasts. By the end of the week, campers will have created a bustling Lego City and made lasting summer memories.

Singing for Stage Intensive (Grades 6th-12th)

The KCD Singing for Stage Intensive combines the best of college-level instruction in singing and acting for the musical theater stage. This two-week program is designed for students ages 12 through 19 (or rising 6th through 12th) who are preparing for college auditions, building a performance portfolio, or simply considering a deeper dive into the world of the musical stage. Our nationally recognized faculty will work with students on audition techniques, movement, fight choreography, score analysis, song interpretation, and promotional material preparation during this two-week intensive. Students entering their senior year will also be offered the opportunity to complete all the requirements for the Acceptd.com Musical Theatre Common Prescreen Requirements, the prescreening used by many college BFA programs, during their residency with the KCD SSI. We welcome both KCD and non-KCD students!
