Bearcats break record in 4th annual Dare to Care Cereal Drive

Students and faculty from across the KCD community came together in Gardner Gym on the morning of Friday, March 20, for the school’s fourth annual cereal domino drop assembly, celebrating an incredible achievement in the Dare to Care Cereal Drive.
The school-wide drive, held March 16–20, had Bearcat families collecting boxes of cereal for donation to Dare to Care Food Bank. This year, the community set a new record, gathering 3,532 total boxes—up from 2,200 last year!

Friendly competition added some extra excitement, with classes across each of our three divisions vying to bring in the most donations. Top honors went to Ms. Ambach and Ms. Gritton’s Kindergarten class, which led the Lower School with 667 boxes. Ms. Noble’s Middle School advisory collected 128 boxes, and Ms. Mendel and Dr. Brown’s Upper School advisory brought in 49 boxes. Each winning group received a trophy, hand-crafted in the school’s Design and Fabrication Lab by Mr. Rice.

Lower School families were especially generous, contributing an impressive 2,581 boxes. All of these donations will directly benefit students and families in need across Jefferson County Public Schools—a true reflection of KCD students putting the school’s motto, Citizen, Scholar, Steward, into action.
