Arts Department Celebrates New KMEA All-State Modern Band Selection

The Arts Department is thrilled to announce that Ariele Zuva ’29 (voice) has been admitted to the KMEA All-State Modern Band (Rock Band). Ariele joins a talented group of KCD students previously selected for this honor.
Our full roster of All-State Modern Band representatives now includes:
  • Ariele Zuva ’29 – Voice
  • Maya Mathew ’28 – Voice
  • JD Doty ’30 – Drums
  • Emmett Heitkemper ’32 – Voice
  • Harrison Nicholls ’34 – Marimba
These musicians were chosen from a competitive pool of nearly 150 applicants across Kentucky. They will perform with the All-State Modern Bands during the 2026 Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) Annual Conference in downtown Louisville.

Save the Date: The final concert will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026, likely in the Galt House Cochran Ballroom. Congratulations to all our musicians—you rock!
