KCD honors distinguished community members at 2026 Hall of Fame Ceremony

KCD hosted its 2026 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Reception on Friday, January 23, bringing together current families and faculty, alumni and friends, retired faculty, and dedicated supporters to celebrate individuals whose achievements and service have made a lasting impact on the school community.
The evening began with the Arts Hall of Fame, inducting Trace Mayer ’87, antiques dealer and creator of Museum Bees, and Gibbs Rounsavall ’94, visual artist and muralist, in recognition of their creative accomplishments and contributions to the arts.

Next, the Beam Athletic Hall of Fame honored Paige Henry ’11 as the newest member of the Royal Bearcat Society—KCD’s highest athletic honor—for field hockey. Also inducted into the Beam Hall of Fame were Helen Killarney Vice ’00 for girls golf, Pai Charasika ’94 for football, the 1991 Boys Basketball Team, and former Grounds Superintendent Keith Kidd, as a Notable Individual.

The Alumni Hall of Fame proudly inducted Risa Puno ’99, an award-winning, innovative visual artist and community builder known for creating interactive art that fosters connection and understanding. Her work has been exhibited across the U.S. and internationally, using public art, games, and participatory design to make complex social issues engaging and accessible.

The ceremony continued with the Faculty Hall of Fame, honoring Frank Heil, who served as Director of Building and Grounds for 46 years (1977–2022), and Betty Jo Fore, a math teacher and Upper School Director from 1979–2007, for their decades of dedicated service to KCD.

The evening concluded with Deena Carey presenting the Service to the School Award to Sarah Wilder Brice ’79 and Chris Brice, KCD Board Chair, in recognition of their extraordinary support of the school. Former faculty members, past parents and coaches, and steadfast community leaders, Chris and Sarah embody a lifelong commitment to KCD.

The ceremony concluded with a reception celebrating the inductees and their enduring contributions to the KCD community.
