Congratulations to the 5th- and 6th-grade field hockey team on winning their championship tournament on Thursday, September 25.
KCD defeated Highlands Latin 1-0 in the semifinal match-up and went on to play Christian Academy of Louisville in the championship final. With regular game play ending in a 0-0 tie, the Bearcats defeated CAL 3-1 in overtime strokes. Sarah Mvaa ’32 had a shutout in overtime, and the three goals were scored by Catherine Andrews ’32, Anna Batchelor ’32, and Quinn Soderquist ’32. Way to go, Bearcats!
We are also so proud of our 7th- and 8th-grade team for placing 2nd in their tournament! The Bearcats defeated Highland Middle 4-0 in the semifinal and lost a tough battle to Barret in overtime strokes for the championship.
