Four students accepted into the All-State Modern Band
The Arts department is proud to share that four students—across KCD’s three divisions—were accepted to the KMEA All-State Modern Band (also known as Rock Band at KCD). Congratulations to Maya Mathew ’28 (voice), JD Doty ’30 (drums), Emmett Heitkemper ’32 (voice), and Harrison Nicholls ’34 (marimba)!
These students were selected from a pool of almost 150 students across the state of Kentucky. They will be featured with the All-State Modern Bands at the 2026 Kentucky Music Educators Association Annual Conference held February 4–7, 2026, in downtown Louisville. The final concert will be held on Friday, February 6, likely in the Galt House Cochran Ballroom. You guys rock!
