Kentucky Country Day School is seeking an experienced individual to fill the Financial Aid Officer & Upper School Registrar position. The Financial Aid Officer & Upper School Registrar is responsible for managing all aspects of financial aid and all upper school academic record keeping and management of the central upper school database. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Aid Officer
Manage the financial aid process and budget.
Oversee all aspects of the financial aid process.
Work with families to help understand the financial process and answer questions.
Meet with the Financial Aid Committee (Head of School, CFO, Director of Admissions) as needed.
Conduct a thorough review of financial aid applicants, prepare documentation and recommendations for the Financial Aid Committee.
Communicate award decisions to families.
Work closely with the Director of Enrollment Management to discuss new student financial aid files and financial aid waitlist.
Throughout school year, meet and talk with parents regarding award requests.
Report Financial Aid numbers to INDEX, NAIS, and ISACS as requested.
Upper School Registrar
Maintain academic records for upper school students.
Create the Upper School Master Schedule every year and build each individual US student schedule.
Meet with students to make changes to schedules throughout the school year and ensure graduation requirements are met.
Print various Reports as requested by Administrators.
Provide transcripts as needed for current students and also as requested by KCD alumni and other schools and colleges.
Work closely with Middle School scheduler to coordinate faculty spaces, etc.
Coordinate with Assist Head of School and Upper School Director on scheduling, course guides, etc.
Qualifications & Skills:
Two to five years of experience in admissions, enrollment, financial aid or related areas in an independent school preferred.
Experience with or willingness to learn new data systems and data processes quickly; Blackbaud and/or FACTS experience is a strong plus.
Strong attention to detail; with the ability to multitask, work under pressure and with strict deadlines.
Commitment to data integrity, privacy, and confidentiality.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues.
Basic knowledge in general accounting and/or human resources.
