Michael Alex Weldon joins Kentucky Country Day School as our new Varsity Baseball Head Coach with six years of experience at the collegiate club, high school, and travel baseball levels. Most recently, Coach Weldon served as Associate Head Coach and Head JV Coach at Montgomery County High School, helping lead the program from 8 wins to 20 wins in his first season and 30 wins the following year. Both seasons culminated in 10th Region runner-up finishes.
Previously, Coach Weldon coached at Model Laboratory High School, helping lead the program from 6 wins to 20 wins in his first season before setting a school record with 23 wins the following year. He also served as Head Coach of EKU Club Baseball, helping restart the program following the COVID-19 shutdown while overseeing recruiting, scheduling, fundraising, player eligibility, and program operations.
Coach Weldon believes the best baseball programs are built through the people inside them. His approach is centered on setting high expectations, developing players every day, and creating a culture where teammates hold one another accountable and take pride in representing their program. His goal extends beyond developing better baseball players—he strives to help young men become better leaders, teammates, students, and members of their communities.
