Coach Matthew Jones releases first book, The Iron Glove
Congratulations to KCD Varsity Football Head Coach Matthew Jones on the release of his first book, The Iron Glove: How to Build a Championship Culture with Love and Accountability. The book was published on Friday, August 21, 2026, and is available for purchase on Amazon.
The Iron Glove tells the story behind an extraordinary five-year transformation of KCD’s Football program. Following a devastating 38-7 loss in the state championship game in the winter of 2020, Coach Jones and his team set out to rebuild his staff, strategy, and the soul of the program. These efforts culminated in KCD’s emotional and historic 2025 state championship victory.
“KCD has shaped the coach and person I am, and I hope that comes through when everyone reads this book,” Jones said.
Written with coaches in mind but applicable to anyone who leads—teachers, parents, executives, and more—The Iron Glove offers lessons drawn from the field that extend well beyond football.
