Bearcats impress at Indoor Track State Championship
Ellie Beam ’26 and Paige Daniels ’27 represented KCD at the 2026 Indoor Track & Field State Championships on Tuesday, March 3, at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville. Both athletes made Bearcat history with record-setting performances.
Beam captured the Class A state championship in the 200 meters with a time of 25.88 and finished as the runner-up in the 400 meters with a time of 59.11. Her performances in both events set two new school records. With the victory, Beam became the fifth KCD girls’ athlete to win an indoor track and field Class A state championship.
Daniels also delivered a strong performance, placing seventh in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.72 to earn a medal. Her time ranks second-fastest in school history for the indoor 55-meter hurdles.
With their collective efforts, the KCD girls’ indoor track and field team finished seventh overall in the team standings.
