A901: Bearcat F.C. Soccer Camp

Participants will receive age-appropriate instruction in the skills of soccer. Themes will include, but are not limited to, ball handling, inside of the foot pass, instep drive, receiving/trapping, shooting/finishing, and game situations. These skills will be incorporated into modified games and activities in order to practice the skills in a fun setting.

A902: A Blast of Broadway

Six days of acting, singing and dancing on KCD's beautiful stage and in our fabulous black box theatre! Participate in a camp led by renowned New York choreographer Lane Gifford in collaboration with one of KCD's talented musical faculty, Jeannine Ary. A Blast of Broadway offers master classes in drama, music and dance. This hands-on learning approach is a fun and exciting learning experience for all drama and music students. No prior experience is necessary, as classes are geared to the varied levels of the students, some of whom are returning participants. This workshop concludes with a musical theater production of scenes from Broadway shows presented to parents and friends on day 6.

Campers should bring a snack and lunch and wear comfortable workout clothes (no skirts or sandals) every day. For our presentation, please wear plain black shorts and a solid primary colored t-shirt.

A902: College Application and Essay Workshop

This course will introduce students to all aspects of the Common Application. Students will complete all the sections of the application including the biographical section, activities and leadership resume, and essay. Students will think about how to make their writing creative and persuasive. They will brainstorm, outline, organize, and formulate a game plan for the essay topics for their desired colleges. One day, admissions counselors from several different colleges will attend the course to help students revise their essays. Students should bring their laptops.

A903: SAT Bootcamp

This will be an intensive and thorough SAT course that will cover the Reading, English, and Math sections of the SAT. This course will help students prepare for the June 6th SAT and teach them strategies, tips, and tricks that will have them achieving higher scores. Students should bring notebook, pencils, and a calculator to class. Former KCD teacher Joel Morris, who has worked with more than 2,000 students on test prep, will use his 15 years of test prep knowledge to ensure students become more successful.
