A805: Blast of Broadway in the Bluegrass!

Six days of acting, singing, and dancing on KCD's beautiful stage and in our fabulous black box theatre! Participate in a camp led by renowned New York City choreographer Lane Gifford, in collaboration with one of KCD's talented musical faculty, Jeannine Ary. A Blast of Broadway in the Bluegrass offers master classes in drama, music, and dance. This hands-on learning approach is a fun and exciting learning experience for all drama and music students. No prior experience is necessary, as classes are geared to the varied level of the students, some of whom are prior participants. This workshop concludes with a musical theatre production of scenes from Broadway shows and Hollywood movies presented to parents and friends on day 6. Campers should bring a snack and lunch and wear comfortable workout clothes (no skirts or sandals) every day. For our presentation, please wear plain black shorts and a solid colored primary colored t-shirt. Show: Saturday 1:00 PM

A806: Kindergarten Kickstart

Join Mrs. Cohen and Ms. Christoff to get a head-start on learning the ropes of Kindergarten. We will polish our Kindergarten skills as we play math games, read fun stories together, and learn our way around the Lower School building. Our theme for the week will be the wonderful and fun stories of Dr. Seuss! This week will provide an opportunity for students to learn and play with other KCD kindergarteners while preparing for a great year ahead. Our goal is for our campers to feel confident and ready for their first day of school. What to bring: A simple snack and a water bottle each day. Wear tennis shoes as we will be venturing out to the playground

A807: KCD Volleyball Skills Camp

This camp is designed to teach the game of volleyball in a relaxed and fun environment! We will focus on individual player development. All aspects of the game will be taught by head coach Dallas Zimmerman and Varsity veteran players who are passionate about the game of volleyball. We will teach the 5 basic skills in depth. These skills include, overhand serving, passing, attacking/hitting and setting. We will focus on technique, skill development, and individual self-confidence! Please bring a water bottle, a light snack, knee pads, elbow pads and court shoes.

Do you know the difference between the carnivores and herbivores? If so, this is the camp for you! We will learn about dinosaurs and have yummy dinosaur snacks each day of the week. A809: Messy Fun

Do you enjoy getting a little messy when you play? Then this is the camp for you! We'll make glow in the dark slime and paint with shaving cream. A810: Maximize your College Search

This course will give rising junior the skills and resources needed to maximize their college search and admissions process in their junior and senior years. We will focus on various aspects of the college search including, college campus visits, resume building, scholarship search, choosing a college major, and much more. One day, admissions representatives from several different colleges will meet with student to talk about interviewing and e-mail etiquette and conduct mock interviews. Students should bring their laptops.
