Intro to Bearcat Football (Grades 1st-4th)

Calling all Football fans! Join Coach Sample for a fun-filled week on the gridiron! Each day, we will focus on throwing and catching the football, learning Wide Receiver routes, and playing a fun game of one-hand touch football. We will divide the grades when it comes to gameplay, as 1st and 2nd will be together, and 3rd and 4th will be together. We will be inside doing a football-related activity in an event of inclement weather. Please bring Cleats AND Tennis Shoes, a snack, and a water bottle.

Welcome to Middle School Prep & Tech Boot Camp (Entering KCD 5th-6th Grades)

Come to MS Prep and Tech to learn all the tips and tricks for the transition to middle school. In this camp, we will develop the Chromebook and google tools used in the middle school, review summer reading and math skills, practice organizing binders, planners, and lockers, and get to know the school by taking tours, following our schedule, and making new friends! Join Ms. Byron, 5th grade Language Arts teacher, for a week of prep and fun before the school year begins!

Fabulous First Grade (Entering KCD 1st Grade)

Join Ms. Purdie for a week of summer camp fun! Rising first-grade students (current Kindergarteners) are invited to spend a few days getting acclimated to the first grade classrooms, routines, and expectations of first grade in a fun and playful way! We will enjoy flashlight reading, fishing for phonics, creative crafts, and super s'mores!

Kindergarten Kickstart (Entering KCD Kindergarten)

Join Kindergarten teachers Adam Wilkinson and Susan Christoff for a fun kickstart to your KCD Kindergarten journey. Become acquainted with your new kindergarten friends and our extended KCD campus. We will spend time each day exploring the campus, both inside and out, as well as enjoy getting to know new peers through activities, games, and movement. Fee includes all supplies. Kindergarteners will need to bring a change of clothes in a backpack, a water bottle, a snack and wear sneakers. We will be moving a lot!

Science + Art Camp (Grades 4th-6th)

Join KCD teacher Lillian Apple for a camp that is all about exploring the relationship between art and science. Each day, campers will do a hands-on science experiment followed by an art project related to a specific topic. One example includes making microscope slides to see plant stomata, then crafting a Henri Matisse scissor painting of leaves. Another day will involve chemical reactions to make stars after learning about Van Gogh's 'Starry Night.' Lessons with telescopes, electricity, paints and more will be featured.

Minute to Win It Week (Grades 1st-8th)

Based on the hit TV game show Minute to Win It. Come and compete in pressure packed events that will challenge your physical and mental dexterity. Campers will compete individually and in teams to complete challenges.

SAT and ACT Math Prep (Grades 10th-12th)

Join former math teacher and current KCD Athletic Director, Amy Elliott, for a week of SAT and ACT Math prep! Students will be taking real exams and getting them scored so that there will be individual attention to what each student is struggling with. Additionally, students will learn tricks and strategies to better their score. Students will be asked to practice both ACT and SAT Math tests but are welcome to focus on one during the week of camp.
