Essentially an English camp, this option allows both struggling students and those who excel a focused opportunity to hone their language skills for a full week in preparation for the coming year. Vocabulary Cartoons, by the Princeton Review, and ROCK THE SAT, a CD of songs that incorporate the hot 200 SAT/ACT words into catchy, easy-to-remember pop/rock songs (all materials provided by the instructor) This course will involve nothing less than an assault on several professional study guides for ACT/SAT/ERB vocabulary. We will engage in a myriad of creative games and exercises that will aid in burning these words indelibly into our minds. The books we use offer excellent visual mnemonic devices, making learning difficult words much less painful than a standard vocabulary text. Again this year we will be using the very popular rock music component! Rock The SAT makes learning high-stakes testing vocabulary as easy as listening to your mobile device. I will provide the songs, and students will be able to import them into their iTunes for listening well beyond the week of class! Believe it or not, this class is actually FUN:-).
