All About Animals (Grades JK-4th)
We know what happens If You Give A Dog a Cookie or If You Give A Pig a Pancake. But, if you want to learn what happens if you give a pig some Cheerios or share your fruits and vegetables with Ollie, the cutest little one-eyed goat with congenital facial abnormalities, come to All About Animals Camp and find out. We will make animal themed crafts and snacks as we explore our wonderful world of animals. Tribe Animal Sanctuary will visit campus and bring some farm animals and special needs dogs for campers to interact with and learn from. We will separate large bags of dog food into gallon size bags to donate to My Dog Eats First, a fantastic non-profit organization that supports the pets of homeless and underserved people of Louisville. We hope you will join us for this absolutely, pawsitively, tail-waggin' week of furry fun.

Exponential Expansion of Advanced (ACT/SAT/ERB) Vocabulary: ROCK THE TESTS! Session 1 (Grades 6th-9th)
This course will involve nothing less than an assault on several professional study guides for ACT/SAT/ERB vocabulary. We will engage in a myriad of creative games and exercises that will aid in burning these words indelibly into our minds. The books we use offer excellent visual mnemonic devices, making learning difficult words much less painful than a standard vocabulary text. Included: FUN BOOK FOR 2021! Vocabulary Cartoons, by the Princeton Review, and ROCK THE SAT, a CD of songs that incorporate the hot 200 SAT/ACT words into catchy, easy-to-remember pop/rock songs (all materials provided by the instructor).
Again this year we will be using the very popular rock music component! Rock The SAT makes learning high-stakes testing vocabulary as easy as listening to your mobile device. I will provide the songs, and students will be able to import them into their iTunes for listening well beyond the week of class! Believe it or not, this class is actually FUN.
Please Note: Should you wish to enroll your child in both this course and the accompanying afternoon course(s) I offer, I will gladly supervise the lunch hour here at school. Students will need to bring their own lunches each morning. Refrigeration is available.

Polished Essay Composition in the Digital Age Session 1 (Grades 6th-9th)
A primer in the fundamentals of solid essay writing, with an added emphasis on the integration of technological tools to maximize efficiency.
Using the tremendous technological tools now at our disposal, we will immerse ourselves fully in the writing process, learning the fundamentals of excellence in essay writing. We will pay special attention to the art of self-editing and revision, which will require students to begin to understand writing as a process, rather than a product. Students will produce at least one and possibly two complete essays within our week of work. No homework will be required, but I will offer p.m. digital assistance for any motivated students who want to work and night to go the extra mile!
Please Note: Should you wish to enroll your child in both this course and the accompanying morning course(s) I offer, I will gladly supervise the lunch hour here at school.
