A201: Bearcat Remote Summer Education: Exponential Expansion of ACT/SAT/ERB Vocabulary/Grammar Instruction, with FITNESS/Stretching component to keep kids ACTIVE and engaged! (online camp)

Use summer to make strides in honing your child’s English skills! Mr. Pollitt is taking his popular summer English camp online for June 2020! We will be adopting all kinds of creative changes to optimize our remote learning experience, including digital delivery of all materials, smaller classes for more personalized instruction, combining two traditional classes for more efficient and cost-effective delivery of content, and even a fitness component to keep kids active while they learn!

We have built in an extra 30 minutes and will take regular stretch breaks that include fitness challenges to keep us all active, alert, and engaged!

This course will involve nothing less than an assault on several professional study guides for ACT/SAT/ERB vocabulary. We will engage in a myriad of creative games and exercises that will aid in burning these words indelibly into our minds. The books we use offer excellent visual mnemonic devices, making learning difficult words much less painful than a standard vocabulary text.

We will use our virtual classroom to study vocabulary together and to learn the ART of studying. Students will have the opportunity to get consistent personal feedback from Mr. Pollitt, work in pairs and/or small groups, and listen to amusing and educational songs that reinforce their learning.

Again this year we will be using the very popular rock music component! Rock The SAT makes learning high-stakes testing vocabulary as easy as listening to your mobile device. I will provide the songs, and students will be able to import them into their iTunes for listening well beyond the week of class! Believe it or not, this class is actually FUN:-).
