Summer Intensive ACT & SAT Test Prep

Meeting mostly on Saturdays throughout the summer, the course will offer 40 hours of in-person, interactive classroom instruction accompanied by 20 hours of supervised study. An additional 80 hours or so of individual practice will be required between meetings. The course will cover:

  1. methods for approaching the various question types,
  2. tips, tricks, and patterns, and
  3. all tested verbal and math content.
The content will be fully relevant to both the SAT and ACT tests, and the schedule is timed to optimally prepare students to take the SAT on August 28 and the ACT on September 11. (The course will not cover the Science section of the ACT; contact Coach Rodgers if interested in a short supplement to address that material.) Each session will be recorded and available for review.

About the instructor: Blair Rodgers graduated from KCD in 1985 and earned a National Merit Scholarship for his performance on the PSAT and SAT tests. After graduating from Princeton University with honors in Politics, he served for four years as a Marine helicopter pilot before entering the private sector. He received his MBA from London Business School in 2003 and then worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Finance department at LBS, after which he attended Columbia University for postgraduate work in the Mathematics of Finance. He worked as a management consultant based in New York for many years before returning to Louisville four years ago, at which time he joined KCD’s varsity football coaching staff. He has taught standardized test preparation since 2004 and has been lauded as the “best tutor in North America.” Coach Rodgers can be reached via email at blair.rodgers@oakstoneanalytics.net or by phone at 502-716-6630.
