Our motto of Citizen, Scholar, Steward can be seen posted on bulletin boards and on walls all around campus. Another way our middle school students experience these values are through clubs. Our students support a variety of clubs and activities that meet a wide range of student interests. During a recent Monday meeting, student leaders from over 20 clubs presented their club ideas to their peers, offering a brief overview as well as the club’s goals and anticipated activities. Following the presentations, students had the opportunity to sign up for clubs that interested them.
Several of the clubs that are offered allow students to build a stronger sense of community and citizenship with others through fun and unique activities. Clubs such as Baking Club, Bass Fishing Club, and Game Club allow for these experiences.
As scholars, students have the opportunity to expand on their academic interests and sharpen their skills through clubs such as Mathcounts, Science Olympiad, and Writing Club. Many student organizations are also focused on making a difference on campus, the local community, and in some cases, even the world.
Some clubs that inspire this type of stewardship are Green Team, Community Service Club, and Ghana Club. The Middle School looks forward to an exciting year of learning and fun outside of the curriculum through clubs!
